Bat surveys

All UK bat species are European Protected Species (EPS) and legally protected under European and National law. It is an offence to kill, injure, capture or disturb a bat, or to damage, disturb or obstruct access to their resting and breeding places.

How we can help

If your project has the potential to  affect bat habitat, such as buildings, hedges, woodland and trees, you are likely to need a bat survey for your planning application.

Where bats are impacted a Natural England European Protected Species (EPS) or Bat Low Impact Class Licence (BLICL) may be required to legally authorise the works.

Our licensed bat ecologists can help with a bat survey, apply for relevant licences and supervise works if your project needs it.

Bats hibernate during winter so it’s good to get in touch with us at an early stage of your project to avoid delays later on.
