Invertebrate surveys

There are more than 40,000 species of invertebrate in the UK: beetles, flies, bees, wasps, ants, bugs, butterflies, moths, mayflies, dragonflies, grasshoppers and more. Many species are endangered, listed as Biodiversity Action Plan priority species for conservation and given legal protection. Under section 41 of the NERC act the potential presence of notable species within your site must be taken into account when planning your project.
