reptile surveys

Reptile surveys

Common lizards, slow worms, adders and grass snakes are all protected by the Wildlife and Countryside Act. Rarer species such as the sand lizard and smooth snake are given additional legal protection.

How we can help

If your project has the potential to impact habitat suitable for reptiles such as heathland, hedgerows, rough grassland or post-industrial sites we can help with a reptile survey. We can also provide you with support from an experienced ecologist who can undertake a ‘watching brief’  to supervise your work.

Reptiles hibernate during winter so it’s important to involve an ecologist at an early stage of your project. It means we can avoid costly delays later on.
