We employed Ecology Partners to carry out a detailed vegetation survey at a nature reserve in North Cornwall, and were delighted with every aspect of their work.  John's botanical skills are excellent, and his conscientious and helpful attitude meant we got more from the project than we had originally expected.   His communication was spot-on throughout the duration of the project and he was willing to be flexible when we needed to alter survey dates at short notice.

Ecology Partners, have been ecological consultants to our Commoners’ Association over the past two years.  It has been a problematic time, coming to the end of one ten year Natural England scheme and bidding for the next - Countryside Stewardship Higher Tier.    John has been pivotal in this process, displaying a wide range of skills and knowledge essential to the complex and convoluted bidding process. John combines the rare ability to research and report on a level acceptable to the funding agencies, while ensuring that the membership of the Association know and understand exactly what is required.  John is efficient, effective, flexible and friendly and an excellent communicator.  He has shown an ability to work with a wide range of partners and maintain objectivity when required, whilst supporting the needs of our Association. In the process of winning the contract Ecology Partners brought in excellent additional expertise, we refined the specification and discussed methodologies and how the final data would be presented. The field work was carried out on time and on budget. The project presented significant challenges in terms of the scale and complexity of the task. John maintained excellent communication, discussed his thinking and provided answers to queries. He was generous with his time and on several occasions discussed the project in person with our ranger team and other NT colleagues. The data was presented in various formats including digital GiS files, pdf maps, target notes and photos of specific features. With an excellent summary report providing the methodology and an analysis of the data. The outputs of the project are greater than I originally anticipated and we use the findings on an almost daily basis to inform our understanding of our suites and to help us plan future conservation work.  

Ecology Partners did an excellent job of updating and improving our knowledge of the priority habitats across our Mid and South East Cornwall properties and identifying where there is good potential to extend these. This information will prove very useful to us in planning future conservation work across these areas.  

John's botanical knowledge and identification skills give us the confidence we need and he is always conscientious and flexible in the work he does for us. John is a good communicator and his project management skills mean everyone involved is kept informed and up to date.
